[Also in Group XXX] In a transport system in which a vehicle traverses a supporting structure provided with different types of running surfaces such as a mono-rail, a two-rail track surface or a solid non-tracked surface the structure has a transition section wherein two different running surfaces overlap and automatically operative means within the transition section which adjust and transpose driving and supporting wheels on the vehicle to transfer the drive and support of the vehicle from one running surface to another. The vehicle aI, aii, ao is provided with wheels 5 to run on a mono-rail I and has mounted thereon vertically slidable brackets which carry guiding rollers 3, stabilising rollers 4 and flanged wheels 1. The rollers 3, 4 bear against the vertical sides of the monorail I and the wheels 1 enable the vehicle to traverse the normal two rail track. At the transfer point ³ between the mono-rail and double rail tracks the double rails o are curved so as to lower or lift the wheel and roller carrying brackets so as to enable the vehicle to traverse the mono or double track rails without altering its speed. In an alternative arrangement shown in Figs. 4 and 5 the rollers 3, 4 are mounted on a bracket 7 pivoted about a point 6 on the vehicle and the vertical sides of the mono-rail are gradually merged into a horizontal plane surface oo so that the rollers are turned from the position in which they bear against the sides of the mono-rail to the horizontal position in which they serve as running wheels on the horizontal surface # or vice versa.
