The links supporting element 15 of a limb exercising device is hinged to a supporting frame 9 so as to swing about a vertical axis and is made up of two portions 16, 17 hinged together, again so as to swing about a vertical axis, means being provided to control and limit the relative pivoting respectively of the two portions 16, 17 and of portion 16 and frame 9 and further means being provided for suspending the limb being exercised from the element. Frame 9 is clamped to a bar 2 and comprises a U-shaped bracket 10 having arms 12, 12<SP>1</SP> with bearings 14 which carry a vertical end piece 18 of portion 16 which comprises two end pieces 18 and two horizontal members 19. A ring 21, having perforations 22 is joined to the end of arm 12 and portion 16 may be held by a pin passing through a perforation in the lower member 19 and one of the perforations 22. If a pin is placed in one of the perforations 22 without passing through member 19, it will limit the swinging of portion 16. Similarly portion 17, comprising one end piece 181, a horizontal member 19<SP>1</SP> and a bent member 24, is mounted in bearings 14<SP>1</SP> of the same construction as bearings 14, including the means for preventing or limiting relative movement. In addition, a pulley 34 is keyed to the upper end 20 of the piece 18 or 18<SP>1</SP>, so as to trim with it, and a cable 36 is secured to the perimeter of the pulley and extends through a block 38 terminating in a lower end 39 on which blocks may be placed. A plurality of hooks 25 depend from members 19, 19<SP>1</SP> by which a sling or the like may be suspended to support the limb. A spade plate 27, secured to member 19<SP>1</SP> as shown, may be provided against which the limb presses or the foot may be clamped to a rod secured to member 19<SP>1</SP>.
