736,650. Mandrels. SAMAR MACHINES, Ltd., [formerly SAMAR TEXTILES, Ltd.]. March 22, 1954 [Aug. 10, 1953], No. 22031/53. Class 83 (3). [Also in Group XVI] A mandrel for supporting an article of knitted footwear in a stencil-printing machine (see Group XVI), is of metal, wood or plastic material, and may be formed from a length of aluminium tubing. The mandrel is formed with a bore m1 to fit on a rotary spindle having a flange carrying a peg to engage a hole 84 in a metal ring 83 attached to the mandrel.. The outer end is tapered at m2, and a recess m3 accommodates the heel pouch, an annular groove m4 receives the ribbed top, and a narrow groove m5 provides a datum line for registering the top edge of the leg portion. Specification 719,497, [Group VII], is referred to.
