Class 112 The dial of a linking machine has an outward extension H formed with grooves J adapted to support and to resist lateral displacement of the inner ends of the fluted portions F of the points. The dial comprises a ring A having a flat upper surface C, and an inclined inner surface B formed with radial grooves D for the shanks E of the points. Ring A is clamped to a base A<SP>1</SP> by a ring G secured to base A<SP>1</SP> by screws.
