Abstract

736,482. Earrings. SAYERS, S. Jan. 31, 1955 [Nov. 10, 1953], No. 31135/53. Class 43. An earring or earornament comprises a pair of separate cooperating members, each of which consists of a permanent magnet, arranged to be positioned on opposite sides of the lobe of the ear so that they are retained in position by their mutual attraction. The magnetic members may be of various shapes and may be coloured or have other decoration applied thereto. In the example the front member consists of a ring or disc 1 of permanently magnetized sintered material with a substantially flat rear face to make contact with the lobe of the ear and a curved or partly spherical front surface within which an artificial or other decorative stone 5 is mounted. The retaining.or backing member 7 comprises a ring or disc 7 of similarly permanently magnetized material provided with a bore 9. The magnets may be of sintered material known under the Registered Trade Mark "Ticonal".
