Abstract
735,824. Machinery mountings. BERTUCH, H. Aug. 21, 1953 [March 19, 1953], No. 23071/53. Class 80 (4). A machine base 13 is mounted upon a number of adjustable resilient supports which are sunk and concreted in the floor. Each support comprises a cast housing 3 whose outer surfaces taper slightly and are provided with dove-tailed recesses to key the housing to the concrete, while the inner surface is formed with two recesses receiving cushions 5, 6 of hard rubber upon which rests a bridge 7. The bridge is provided on its upper face with two wedge-shaped surfaces 9, and a wedge 10 resting on these surfaces is adjusted by a screw 12 to vary the height of the base 13. The bridge 7 is bolted to the housing 3 by bolts 8 which are tightened to give the bridge an initial stress which is neutralized when the support is loaded. The base 13 is tied to the bridge 7 by a bolt 14 passing through a slot in the wedge. Foundation bolts 15 may be provided when the machine is top-heavy.
