Abstract

735,622. Resilient joints. NEIDHART, H. J. April 15, 1954 [Nov. 17, 1953], No. 31869/53. Class 108 (3). In a resilient torsion joint of the type comprising an outer member 2 having a bore of the shape in cross-section of a non-re-entrant closed multilateral figure concentric with an inner member 1 of similar cross-sectional shape, with rubber masses 3 fitting the spaces between the two members 1, 2, the number of sides of the outer member 2 is a multiple of the number of sides of the inner member 1. As shown, the angles 5 between adjacent sides of opposite pairs of sides, are greater than the angles 4 between the remaining sides. The inner or outer members may be formed with shims as described in Specification 730,534, and the inner member may be formed as described in Specification 730,167. The inner member may be of triangular cross-section (Fig. 1, not shown). Specifications 652,266 and 710,244 also are referred to.
