735,062. Respiratory masks. VEEDIP, Ltd. Sept. 23, 1953 [Sept. 24, 1952; Oct. 22, 1952], Nos. 24011/52 and 26964/52. Class 81 (2). A face mask, for covering the nose and mouth, has a flexible, inturned edge for contacting the face and a deformable, shaperetaining insert, arranged to come over the bridge of the nose of the wearer. The mask is made of rubber or similar material by a dipping process on a suit - ably shaped former and the inturned flap 1 is made thinner than the rest of the mask so as to be more flexible, but is reinforced by a fabric strip insert 2, which may be of nylon. The deformable insert 4 is preferably a V- shaped strip of metal such as mild steel so that it can be bent to make the mask conform to the shape of the bridge of the nose. Connections may be appropriately formed on the mask according to its use for oxygen supply or anµsthetic use.
