[Also in Groups XXIX and XXX] Liquid borne solid material in a pressure vessel 12 is distributed substantially continuously to two or more points by a discharge valve which comprises a valve plug 11 continuously rotated in a cylindrical housing 10, by a motor or other driving means 31, the valve plug having an end surface 17 facing upstream and being provided with grooves or channels 15 opening at one end into this end surface and at their other ends into the cylindrical surface of the plug, so that the outlet end of the channels 15 register periodically for brief moments with outlet ports 13 formed in the wall of the housing 10. The two diametrically opposite grooves 15 are of the same width or slightly less width than the opposed outlet ports 13 formed at the ends of inclined outlet branches 14 of the valve housing 10. The plug 11 has an extension spindle 18 on which is splined a chain wheel 25 driven from the electric motor 31 and prevented from axial movement by bearings 27, 28. The total flow is varied by axial movement of the plug 11 by a hand-operated screw 24. The screw operates on a block 21 axially movable in a guide 22 and supporting a ball thrust bearing 20 for the spindle 18.
