Abstract
732,525. Insulated couplings. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Oct. 15, 1953 [Oct. 30, 1952], No. 28432/53. Class 38 (1). An insulating sleeve 10 for enclosing the connection between a spark plug and a cable, has one end 13 formed with a flange 16 which grips the cable insulation 8, and the other end 11 gripping the plug insulator 3, this end being thicker than the rest of the sleeve and having a locating shoulder 14. The central part 12 is corrugated to allow the sleeve to bend easily when the cable is at an angle to the plug (Fig. 1, not shown). The sleeve may be of rubber, plastic, e.g. vinylite, or a synthetic rubber such as neoprene, the latter being preferred as it has better oi and corona action resisting properties.
