Abstract

730,722. Photographic product and process. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Aug. 14, 1952 [Jan. 8, 1952], No. 20453/52. Class 98 (2). The product comprises a multilayer structure including a photosensitive silver halide layer on a transparent support which is provided with a grid-like arrangement of minute optical elements, an image-receiving layer adapted to receive a transfer image from the photo-sensitive layer, and a silver halide developer. The product may have, also, a base providing a backing layer and a rupturable container holding a liquid processing agent. Additionally a fixer may be present. The minute optical elements may be lenticules whereby exposure may be effected through a conventional filter with two or more sections of different colour and the arrangement may be such that processing takes place on passing the product through a pair of pressure rollers in the absence of actinic light, whereafter the image-receiving layer may be stripped off and projected through a similar filter. Stereoscopic pairs of images may be made for observation through a viewing device, if desired with opposite plane polarizing for left and right eye vision. Alternatively the minute optical elements may be in the form of a colour screen so that, with a panchromatic silver halide layer, the colour screen principle of photography may be used. The process may be effected by permeating a liquid reagent containing a silver halide developer and a complexforming fixing agent into an exposed product of similar nature which does not itself contain developer and fixer. Specifications 684,592 and 703,231 are referred to.
