[Also in Group XXXVIII] In or for a display device comprising perforated plates adapted to receive and retain indicating means of various forms, the plate proper 32 is of rectangular or square shape and has at its horizontal and vertical edges integral rearwardly extending main flanges 33 arranged at right angles thereto and meeting in four corners 34, the main flanges having integral inwardly projecting auxiliary flanges 35 arranged parallel with the plate 32, the main and auxiliary flanges being cut away as at 36 for a short distance from the corners both at the horizontal and vertical edges to leave the auxiliary flanges in hook-like form so that they are adapted to engage shaped carrier rails 43. The perforations include parallel rows of slots 38 which define imaginary squares. The arrangement of the slots 38 is such that half size slots 39 can be positioned at the edges of the plate to co-operate with similar half size slots in an adjacent plate so that a regularly perforated surface of any desired extent can be built up: The flanges 33 are cut away below these half size slots as indicated at 40 to enable indicators to be inserted in such slots. The flanges 33 are provided with bolt holes 41 so that adjacent plates may be connected together. Each imaginary square defined by the slots 38 may have a hole at its centre for a peg or other suitable indicator. A plurality of perforated members can be connected together by angle section framing members, 46, 47 and the upper member may also be used to carry transparent screening member 51, the member 51 either having a hooked upper end or having a hook attached to its rear to engage a flange. In the latter case the upper edges of the screen may be used as a rail for a cursor. These indicators may be made of strip or sheet material having tabs preformed or otherwise which engage two or more slots 38; to assist in holding the tabs in the slots, a backing plate may be provided behind the perforated plate which engages the ends of the tabs. Wire supports for pieces of cardboard may also be sprung into the slots 38. Indicators may also be carried by metal plates having tabs which engage the perforations 38.
