In a spring interior mattress having facing pads d and tickings f, fly strips h having reinforced free edges are stitched to the tickings and secured to intermediate coils of adjacent or alternate edge springs by rings or hooks l while the mattress is compressed. A border padding is then applied and the tickings have each an extension m which is used in making a roll edge.
