729,824. Cartridge-operated tools. HOLZ, E. April 29, 1952 [April 30, 1951 ; June 15, 1951 ; July 27, 1951], No. 10768/52. Class 119. A cartridge-operated studding or nailing tool for walls has a stud-centring ring 7 arranged in the front plate 6 of the shatterguard 5 on the front end of the muzzle of the tool barrel 4. The ring may be entrained by the stud and means may be provided to limit the depth of insertion of the stud into the wall. The ring may be formed of soft metal and rifled by a helical projection on the stud. The shatter-guard may be made in half sections for ready removal.
