Abstract

727,959. Animal drenching appliances. DRUG HOUSES OF AUSTRALIA, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1953, No. 36321/53. Class 81 (2). An oesophageal tube for connection to a drenching gun is in three parts, a rigid portion for attachment to the gun, a flexible portion attached to the first part and a soft tip at the discharge end of the flexible part. In one embodiment the flexible part 20 carries a soft rubber tip 24 at one end and is held by a collar 21, on a rigid metal tube 10 which is bent to a convenient angle and provided with a nut 12 for attachment to the gun 14. The tip 24 has a small discharge orifice 26 and a non-return valve 18 may be provided in a suitable housing 17 on the rigid pipe 10. In a second form the rigid pipe is itself made in two parts, one curved and one straight, and the non-return valve is provided at the discharge outlet, being provided by a closure plate held against the end of the flexible tube by the resilience of the tip.
