Abstract
727,874. Cleaning-pads. COUESNON, F. A., and GLADDISS, P. G. Feb. 1, 1954 [Oct. 13, 1953], No. 28145/53. Class 19. [Also in Group VI] A scouring pad to contain soap is made from a knitted tube 1 of metal, plastic, &c. wire constricted by an elastic band 4 and rolled up on itself inside out as in Fig. 2 and is then rolled down from 2 as in Fig. 3 whereby the elastic band 4 allows the middle to be pulled open to insert a piece of soap. The rolled-over upper part 2 is secured by stitching at 6. In Fig. 4 the lower open end 9 of a tube, partially closed by an elastic band 4 is rolled over outwardly and upwardly upon itself as in Fig. 5 until its upper stitched end 8 is finally pushed inside the roll up and inside the band 4 through which soap can be passed. Another modification is like Fig. 1 but the end 2 is closed by stitching which passes inside as the elastic band is stretched to receive the rolling.
