Textile band is longitudinally divided into two parts of different material. After folding and fixing the band to a hem, one part of the band can thus be on each of the faces of the article and improve the garment appearance, by ensuring the formation of the fold on the band. Pref. one part is of e.g. nylon, the other of a less noble material, such as cotton. The band has a different texture, e.g. several courses of jersey knit in its mid region, to give a clean break for the fold.
