Abstract

727,208. Extruding. HYDROPRESS, Inc. May 6, 1953 [May 16, 1952], No. 12619/53. Class 83 (4). The billet container 18 of a metal extrusion press is secured in its holder 20 by a split clamping ring 28 which engages between an outwardly projecting flange 27 on the container and an inwardly projecting flange 24 on the holder and which is held in position by an outer retaining ring 39 detachably mounted on the holder. The clamping-ring is formed in two segments pivoted together and has a tapered internal bore which engages a corresponding part of the container. The container is prevented from rotating in its holder by keys 22.
