Abstract

726,615. Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. WIENER RADIOWERKE AKT.- GES. June 5, 1953 [June 5, 1952], No. 15562/53. Class 40 (2). In a recording and/or reproducing apparatus for magnetic tape, fast forward winding and rewinding is effected by means of a coupling between a reel shaft and a fly-wheel driven by the motor. In the embodiment described, a motor shaft 1 drives, by means of a belt 3, a capstan shaft 5 by means of a fly-wheel which consists of two parts 4, 13 and which is coupled for normal driving of a reel shaft 11 for recording or reproducing by means of a belt 8 and a slipclutch 9. When it is desired to effect a positive fast-forward drive, an intermediate pulley 15 is moved into a position (shown chain-dotted in Fig. 1) in which it couples the part 13 of the fly-wheel to a pulley 14 fixed to the reel shaft 11. When a rewind is desired, a pulley 21, coupled to a reel shaft 18 by a belt 20, is pressed into engagement with the part 4 of the fly-wheel.
