Abstract
726,499. Bundling. SOC. AR.L. VERRERIES DE LA GARE ET A. BELOTTE REUNIES. July 27, 1953 [Aug. 12, 1952; June 12, 1953], No. 20836/53. Class 94 (1). Bottles or like containers are bundled by forming stacks 10 and 11, Fig. 1, with their necks facing in opposite directions and overlapping, the stacks being encircled by wire or other straps 15 and 16 interconnected by transverse straps 17 and 18 which may be formed by extensions of the straps 15 and 16. In a modification, Fig. 5, straps 27 and 28 encircling the stacks are positioned so as to engage the bodies of the bottles in one stack and the necks of the bottles in the other stack, the transverse straps being omitted. The friction between the bottles may be increased by inserting a strip of paper or cardboard 31 below the middle bottles 29 and 30 and folding its ends 32 as shown. Alternatively, movement of the middle bottles may be prevented by a wire 33, Fig. 6, having its ends 34, 35 bent to engage the bottoms of the bottles. Several bundles may be stacked on a pallet and secured by wire straps.
