726,315. Tensioning devices for cord &c. ORBECK, H. A. Dec. 7, 1953, No. 34007/53. Class. 45. [Also in Groups XXV and XXXVI] A device for tensioning and supporting cord or wire, such as telephone wire, comprises a disc 4 slidably mounted on a straight part 2 of a frame which has a hook 5 and an apertured rectangular part 1 at right angles to the straight part, the disc being so dimensioned that it cannot pass through the aperture. In operation a loop of the cord to be tensioned is passed through the aperture and around the disc, the device is suspended by means of the hook, and the disc is pushed upwardly to tension the wire, the disc being maintained in the tensioning position by friction.
