[Also in Group XV] A folding quadrilateral frame of rigid material to hold maps, pictures, &c., comprises two parallel members A, A<SP>1</SP> with each of the other two members B, B<SP>1</SP> hinged at F, F<SP>1</SP> to opposite ends of A, so that they may be folded back upon A (see Fig. 3). Overlapping corner pieces C, Cl, C2, C' on each end of B and B<SP>1</SP> add rigidity and decoration. Clips G, G' are fixed to the unhinged ends of B, B<SP>1</SP> to form together with plates C<SP>3</SP>, C<SP>2</SP>, sockets for the ends of A<SP>1</SP>. These clips may have extensions H (see Fig. 4, not shown). A flexible sheet D (such as: paper, plastic material, canvas, oilcloth, latex, textile material; or a fabrication of slats of wood, card, metal linked together to form a flexible unit capable of being rolled) is attached to A, A<SP>1</SP> by adhesives, tacking or stapling so that D will be under sufficient tension to hold A<SP>1</SP> firmly against the ends of B and B<SP>1</SP> with the ends of A<SP>1</SP> in the sockets G, C'; G<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP>. The sheet D carries the display material or may be used as a screen for projections. The frame is hung from extensions such as E, E<SP>1</SP> or H, or supported on a surface by a backrest or prop(s); it may be square, rectangular or a trapezium with A, A<SP>1</SP> remaining parallel, and is collapsed by disengaging B, B' from the ends of A<SP>1</SP>, turning B, B<SP>1</SP> back through an arc, as in Fig. 3, to lie upon the outer edge of A and using A<SP>1</SP> as a core, rolling D up to meet A. The corner pieces C, C', C<SP>2</SP>, C<SP>3</SP> may be square, round or shaped, and with flat or embossed surfaces.
