To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, GRANT lVrLson, a citizen of the United States, residing at lValton. in the county ofv Delaware and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Photo Mounts; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, and to the reference numerals marked thereon.

My present invention relates to picture, card and sign exhibiting and more particularly to mounts and holders for photographs 7 and the like adapted to enclose and protect the photograph when folded or to form an easel-like support for the display of the same when desired and the invention has for its object to provide a simple, efficient and attractive mount or folder of this character. To these and other ends the invention resides in certain improvements and combinations of parts, all as will be hereinafter more fully described, the novel features being pointed out in the claims at the end of the specification.

In the drawings: Figure 1 is a front view of a photo mount constructed in accordance with and illustrating one embodiment of my invention, the same being shown in display position.

Figure 2 is a side view. Figure 3 is a plan View of the mount in folded position and Figure 4- is a view on a smaller scale of the device fully extended in plan to show all of its parts. 1 Similar reference numerals throughout the several views indicate the same parts. The material used in the construction of my device may be any of those commonly employed for the purpose of making photographic mounts such as a stifl, fancy or plain paper. Of the approximate size and shape shown in Figure 4 it is scored and folded along the lines A, B and C to produce in succession apanel portion 1, a back support 2 of about the same size and a strut portion 3 having the flap 4. Along the line of the score 0 and on both sides thereof at preferably equal distances are perforations 5 to receive a lacing of ribbon or other soft flexible material 6 passed therethrough vpocket and a panel portion connected at and tied after the flap l has been folded over upon the strut portion 3 asshown in Figures 1 and 2. i

Upon the face of the panel portion 1 may be secured a suitable frame 7 having embossed corner portions 8 to receive the corners of the photograph or picture 9 in the usual manner.

To display the photograph, the back suport 2 is bent down in rear-thereof along the line A to rest in the manner of an easel leg on the supporting surface with the panel portion inclined rearwardly. From the lower edge or line B of the back support the strut portion 3 extends forwardly and upwardly and the doubled and laced portion 5 thereof is thence bent downwardly so that the scored line C also rests on the supporting surface and an upwardly opening pocket is produced at the forward end of the strut. Into this pocket and down to the lacing 6 is inserted the lower edge of the panel portion 1 which completes a triangular braced structure that is quite rigid and stable as well as of attractive appearance.

To fold the device and cover and protect the photograph, the back support 2 is folded over the panel portion 1 on the line A and the strut portion 3 with the pocket t is con tinued on and folded over the back as shown in Figure 3 making a fiat and compact article.

I claim as my invention:

1. An easel mount for photographs and the like embodying in combination a back support, a connected forwardly extending strut portion having an upwardly opening pocket and a panel. portion connected at its top to the back support and having its lower edge resting in the pocket.

2. An easel mount for photographs and the like embodying in combination a back support, a connected forwardly extending strut portion having an upwardly opening its top to the back support and having its lower edge resting in the pocket, all of said parts being foldable into superposed relationship.

3. An easel mount for photographs and the like embodying in combination a back support,aconnected forwardly extending strut portion having its front end doubled upon itself to constitute an upwardly open ing pocket and a panel portion connected atits top to the back support and having its lower edge resting in the pocket.

5. An easel mount for photographs and the like embodying a continuance sheet havinghinge lines dividing it into a back support, a forwardly extending strut portion at the lower end thereof having its front end doubled upon itself to constitute an upwardly opening pocket and a panel portion connected at its top to the back support and having its lower edge resting in the pocket, said parts being foldable one upon the other so that the back support covers the face of tee panel and the strut and pocket are disposed against the back thereof.

6. An easel mount for photographs and the like embodying in combination a back support. a connected forwardly extending strut portion having an upwardly opening pocket,- a panel portion connected at its top to the back support and having its lower edge resting in the pocket, and means upon the panel adapted to receive and overlie the corners of a photograph to secure the same upon the panel.
