Abstract
726,105. Optical sighting apparatus; levels. MAZZON, C. March 23, 1953, No. 7922/53. Classes 97 (1) and 97 (3). In instruments having a telescope the axis of which is displaceable by rotation before the objective of a transparent plate having plane parallel faces, the plate simultaneously displaces the axis of a second optical system, parallel to the first, whereby the movement of the image of a fixed scale, formed by the second system, gives a measure of the displacement of the axis of the first system. The drawing shows a dumping level having a telescope O1-O1 before which is a parallel faced plate L. Attached to this telescope so that their axes are parallel is a second telescope O2-O2 through which a scale S2 is visible. The plate L is rotated by an arm M and crank F on rotation of a wheel B and causes displacement of the axis C1 of the first telescope and an equal displacement of the axis C2 of the other telescope, which displacement is measured on the reticle of the second telescope.
