Abstract
725,651. Rectifiers. COMPAGNIE DES FREINS ET SIGNAUX WESTINGHOUSE. Jan. 1, 1953 [July 8, 1952], No. 47/53. Class 37. [Also in Group II] In the manufacture of rectifiers, metal plates are moved transversely past a crucible from which a material such as selenium is vaporized and deposited on the plates. The plates 2 may be supported inside a drum 1 with a long crucible 3 at its axis, Fig. 1, or on the outside of the drum with the crucible also outside. Alternatively the plates may be carried by a belt or chains passing over rollers. The plates may be secured to the drum by abutting against bolts 18 in the manner shown in Fig. 7. The apparatus is enclosed in a vacuum.
