Abstract
Crude potassium salts, or intermediate or end products arising during the refining thereof, are froth floated, with or without the preliminary partial removal of slime, in the mother lye, by means of a salt of a normal primary amine, containing more than six carbon atoms, together with a dihydric aliphatic alcohol with more than five carbon atoms and a starch- or cellulose-derivative. Dihydric alcohols containing 6-15 carbon atoms are preferably used. In examples, amine hydrochlorides and the sodium salt of glycollic acid-cellulose ether are used with octylglycol, hexylglycol and tetradecylglycol.
