[Also in Groups XIV and XXV] A holder for a hand-iron or other article comprises an articulated framework comprising a base 14, two side members 17 and two top members 18 joined together at their ends, the framework being attached at or near its upper end to a suitable support 10, the base 14 being provided with a seat on which the end of the iron may rest, and the side members 17 being provided with upwardly and inwardly inclined grippers 19 adapted to contact the iron above its broadest part, the arrangement being such that the weight of the iron resting on the seat presses the grippers against the sides of the iron to hold it, whilst to remove the iron it is merely necessary to lift the iron so as to take its weight off the seat and then to remove it by a downward and forward movement to enable the iron to clear the seat. In the example shown the base 14 is formed of two parts pivoted together at 15 and the members 18 are pivoted to the support 10 at 13. The parts 14 may be bent as at 16 to form a cord holder. The support 10 has bent portions 12 which may be screwed to a wall. In a modification (not shown) the framework comprises five strips articulated at the corners, the base for supporting the iron being in one piece.
