Class 129 In a coffee urn of the type in which the hot water is pumped through the coffee filter, the pump is arranged inside the boiler. The electrically heated boiler 11 is supported above a base 1 and contains a cylinder 17. A piston 20 within the cylinder is operated by a rod 15 which passes through a stuffing box 34 to the outside of the boiler. Ports 17a are cut in the cylinder so that when the piston is raised to its highest position, hot water from the boiler enters the cylinder to be discharged under pressure through the detachable coffee filter 24 as the handle 32 is depressed. The boiler is provided with a filler cap and safety valve, Fig. 2 (not shown).
