The hand controls (e.g. electric control lever 15 brake lever 16, clutch control levers 20 and 21) of a winch are mounted on a structure 10 arranged beneath the driver's chair 12. Also provided are backing-out control 17 and emergency trip control 18, the 'man-safety' control being provided at the rear of the casing.
