Abstract

An electrically conducting cement comprises a thermosetting binding medium containing a resinous ethylene oxide derivative of a phenol having at least two ethylene oxide groups, e.g. as described in Specification 629,111, with which is incorporated fine electrically conducting particles in such proportion that when the binding medium sets the particles are brought into electrical contact throughout the mass. The conducting particles are preferably fine flake silver together with ultrafine precipitated silver obtained from the reaction of formaldehyde and ammonia on silver sulphite obtained by precipitating silver nitrate with sodium sulphite. The mixture is preferably used in diacetone alcohol.ALSO:An electrically conducting cement comprises a thermosetting binding medium containing a resinous ethylene oxide derivative of a phenol having at least two ethylene oxide groups, e.g. as described in Specification 629,111, [Group IV (a)], with which is incorporated fine electrically conducting particles in such proportion that when the binding medium sets, the particles are brought into electrical contact throughout the mass. The conducting particles are preferably fine flake silver together with ultrafine precipitated silver obtained from the reaction of formaldehyde and ammonia on silver sulphite obtained by precipitating silver nitrate with sodium sulphite.
