Abstract
716,018. Electric tests. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. Nov. 27, 1952, [Dec. 8, 1951.] No. 30127/52. Class 37. The magnetizing flux inside a coil 2 whose core comprises material to be magnetically tested is maintained sinusoidal by connecting a choke i with a large core 3 in series with the coil 2, the resultant series current being primarily determined by the characteristics of the choke 1, and having therefore a third harmonic content which will produce the required sinusoidally varying flux in the test material. The core of the choke should preferably have the same properties as the material to be tested.
