Abstract

715,641. Fuse contacts. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 15, 1952], No. 4090/52. Class 38(5) Each contact of a fuse carrier 4 comprises resilient conductors 5a. 5b arranged to be placed between the surfaces of a rigid fixed contact 2, wedges being arranged between conductors 5a. 5b so as to increase the contact pressure. Wedge 8a is secured to conductor 5a. which has a turned-over end, by a screw 9 which extends into a slot 10 in wedge 8b which is guided thereby. An operating screw 12 engages a slot 11 in the upper end of wedge 8b. The fixed contacts are screened by members 14 having holes through which pass the movable contacts.
