713,753. Dampers. CAMPBELL, A. April 4, 1952 [April 6, 1951], No. 8087/51. Class 51 (1) A flue damper comprises a damper blade slidably movable in a frame, both the leading and trailing edges of the blade being formed with inclined surfaces which co-operate with members forming part of or provided on the frame, whereby one surface of the blade is urged into intimate contact with its seating surface within the frame so as to form a substantially gas-tight seal therewith. As shown in the Figure, a damper blade 1 slides in a frame 5 and is provided at its leading edge with an inclined surface 2 which co-operates with a roller 7. The trailing edge of the blade is formed with a strip 3 having an inclined surface which, when the damper is closed, bears against a shoulder 4 of the frame.
