Abstract
713,097. Tractor-mounted implements. RUHRSTAHL AKT.-GES. Nov. 2, 1951 [Nov. 6, 1950 ; April 25, 1951], No. 25698/51. Class 6 (1). [Also in Groups XXV, XXX and XXXI] A tractor is characterized by the provision of one or more forwardly-directed jib-arms for the support of implements pivotally mounted on the front axle or front axle frame of the tractor so as to be movable in a vertical plane through an angle of not less than 90 degrees. In the arrangement according to Fig. 1, in which a yoke 1 is rigidly attached to a front axle 2 by struts 3, 4, jib arms 6 are pivotally attached to plates 5 on the axle 2 and are secured in the horizontal position by linchpins 7, 7. The tractor may be anchored by attaching to each jib arm 6, a detachable prong, Fig. 2 (not shown) carrying a pressure plate, the prongs entering the ground when the jib arms are lowered to their fullest extent. A spring-loaded plate, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be secured across the jib arms or the latter may be sprung with respect to the yoke, Fig. 4 (not shown) to enable the tractor to be used as a bulldozer. In the arrangement according to Fig. 5, each jib arm 6 is pivoted to a front axle frame and carries at its outer end a hook 17 adapted to engage a spindle 21 of a counter-weight roller 20. A bar 18, connected through a link 19 to the frame, closes the hook as the jib arm is raised. The jib arms may be actuated hydraulically through links and rods 13, 14, 15. In a modification (Figs. 6 and 7 not shown), the roller is carried on a rod which engages one of a series of holes in each jib arm. In another modification, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), the hook of the Fig. 5 construction is of self-locking form.
