Abstract

712,572. Window operating apparatus. CARBODIES, Ltd. June 8, 1953 [Aug. 14, 1952], No. 20434/52. Class 20 (3). [Also in Group XXXII] A sector-shaped quarter light 12 pivotally supported at 13 in the back portion of a motor car body is raised, or lowered, by a hydraulically driven lever 18 one end of which is pivoted at 21 to a bracket 22, the other end carrying a roller, not shown, which moves in a channel member 16 welded to the lower part of a frame 15 for the quarter light. A hydraulic piston and cylinder unit 31, 32, for actuating the lever 18 is pivotally mounted at one end 33 to the bracket 22 and at the other end 34 to one arm 35 of a bell crank lever pivoted at 23 to the lever 18. The outer end of the other arm 24 of the bell crank lever is pivoted at 25 to one end of a link 26 the other end of which is provided with a pin 27 which engages in a slot 28 in the bracket 22. A lateral projection 30 on the end of the arm 24 forms an abutment for the link 26 to hold it in an overset position when the lever 18 is fully raised and the light 12 is in the closed position.
