Abstract

712,361. Rotary pumps. MONO PUMPS, Ltd. March 13, 1953 [April 15, 1952], No. 9432/52. Class 110(2) In a pump having a rotor of helical form and a stator so shaped that in operation the two members are constantly in contact in any crosssection, the stator or the rotor comprises bristles which. co-operate with the rotor or stator respectively to convey the material 1 through the pump. The rotor comprises a light alloy or wooden bristle carrier 6 having an integral delivery head 7. The bristles 8 constitute natural or artificial brush bristles or are made of nylon. In a modification. (Fig. 4 not shown), rubber discs having integral bristle-like elements are mounted side by side on the carrier 6. The discs are adhesively interconnected and/or keyed together and are bonded and/or keyed to the carrier. The axial extent of the bristles is less than the thickness of the associated disc and the end face of each bristle-like element is inclined with respect to the axis of the rotor from one side face of the element.
