Class 82 (2) An impeller for a froth flotation machine of the type having a hollow shaft 13 a disc 10 and a plurality of depending fingers 11 is modified by the provision of holes 28 in the disc portion 10. Air is supplied under pressure to the flotation cell through the hollow shaft and is distributed into the pulp in the cell through the openings 12. By virtue of the steady air leak from the holes 28 a constant air pressure is maintained inside the impeller. The disc and fingers may be covered with rubber or other wearresisting material. A modified shape (not shown) of impeller comprises a conical disc 10. Specification 489,497 is referred to.
