Class 29 In a continuous cycle absorption refrigerating system provided with a cooling unit provided with an ice-tray housing and a cabinet - cooling shell 1 evaporator coils being traversed in series by refrigerant and inert gas flowing in the same direction, the housing receives cold from the coils first traversed by the inert gas and the shell is so connected to the coils traversed later by the inert gas that the flow of cold along the side walls of the housing is in a direction opposite to that of the flow of cold along the side walls of the shell. As shown in Fig. 2, inert gas flows through coils A...D and the ice-tray housing 1 'is clamped by members 2, 9 to the two former. The shell 3, 4 is also clamped to coils A, B and is clamped to coils C, D by members 10, 11. It is formed with fins 7, 8 which are located at its lower part so that most of its cold is drawn from coils C, D. Alternatively, a layer of insulation, e.g. cardboard, may be clamped between the shell and coils A; B. Insulation may be placed between the housing and the shell. As shown in Fig. 5, the inert gas flows through six coils A...F, housings 20, 21 being clamped to coils A, B and C, D respectively and shells 24, 25 to coils C, D and E, F respectively. An additional finned shell 27 depends from coils E, F.
