Class 51 (2) In a system for controlling the discharging of coke ovens a plurality of electric contact devices ensure the correct positioning of the various discharging machines; as shown in Fig. 1 each contact device comprises a stationary contact member b, lying in the path of travel of a discharging machine, including ramp-shaped ends b' of insulating material and a central currentconducting portion b<SP>2</SP> of relatively small dimensions, a current collector c carried by the machine being electrically connected with the operating motor of the machine.
