707,840. Boxes. MATCHETT. A. J. June 24, 1952 [Aug. 17, 1951], No. 15870/52. Class 18 A box for a radio valve or the like comprises a tubular member having beaded or flanged ends, and detachable elements engaging the ends having means for supporting the valve. The elements may consist of rectangular sheets 16, 17, having portions 18, 19. cut out from their shorter sides, forming "legs" which are bent to engage the beads. The central portion of each member has apertures to receive the pins &c. of the valve. Where an article has an end without a locating projection, the member adjacent that end may have a flanged aperture receiving the end, or may have two parallel slits 37, 38 (Fig. 15), whereby a central section may be bowed outwards round the end of the article and the two side sections bowed downwards on either side of it. The box may be formed entirely of transparent material and may have its ends sealed by discs. It may be of polygonal section.
