Abstract
706,390. Corrugating. VIRALU SOC. ANON. Dec. 15, 1952 [Jan. 10, 1952], No. 31740/52. Class 83 (4) Wire is corrugated by feeding it axially between meshing right and left handed worms spaced apart a distance equal to the diameter of the wire. Wire 5 is fed axially between worms 1, 2 rotated in directions f<SP>1</SP>, f<SP>2</SP> and is supported by flexible fingers 3 carried on a rotary member 6 of large diameter and projecting into the worm clearance. As the worms rotate the wire is bent into zig-zag form, Fig. 5, by the teeth and is fed axially with the fingers 3. A small bend B may be formed in the corrugation by a projection on one of the worms.
