706,196. Anti-dazzle spectacles. STEWARD, H. R., and FISHEL, G. O. Feb. 11, 1952 [March 9, 1951], No. 5729/51. Class 97(1) A spectacle lens for the use of vehicle drivers comprises a single sheet of glass or glass substitute uniformly coloured orange or yellow and having part of the surface provided with a thin coating of silver, chromium or other metal of such density that it reflects a proportion of incident light rays but allows a small proportion to pass, at least the lower portion of the area of the lens being left uncoated, and the metallic coating gradually merging into the uncoated portion. The division between coated and uncoated portion may be curved as shown, or straight, or the coating may extend over part of the side area of the lens corresponding to the "off-side" of the vehicle being driven.
