705,596. Seamed joints. MANUFACTURERS DE CAOUTCHOUC INDUSTRIEL P. LACOLLONGE SOC. ANON, and USINES D' EMBALLAGES VAN LEER SOC. AR.L. Dec. 28, 1950 [April 13, 1950; July 17, 1950], No. 31494/50. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XVII] A metal container, particularly a drum, having an internal lining has its body provided with a circumferential abutment, the edges of the lining being pinched between the abutment and the container-end, but either not extending or extending to not more than half its width into the seam beween the container end and body In Fig. 1, the abutment is formed by the inwardly directed corrugation 15 of the body 13, and the lining 12, 14 is pinched between the portion 18 and the end 11 when the edges are joined by rolling. The corrugation 15 is reinforced by a ring 18. The corrugation may take several forms, Figs. 2, 3 and 4, and the reinforcing ring may be extended into the roll seam, Fig. 3, or formed by an extension of the rim reinforcing band 17, Fig. 4. In Fig. 6, the abutment is formed by a stepped internal ring 16.
