[Also in Group XI] A mobile hall, theatre &c. comprises a number of wheeled units with a floor, roof and side walls, one or more or these having roof and floorforming parts movable between a folded vertical position and an erected position in which they extend sideways at roof and floor heights and join with similar parts of another unit when the units are appropriately spaced side by side. At least one of the units may have its roof and roof-forming parts adapted to be elevated or its roof may be pivotable between an erected and a lowered position, and to ensure registration of adjacent roof and floor parts one or more units may be jacked off the wheels and shifted sideways by another jack. As shown a theatre comprises four units 1 ... 4, the end units having only one side wall with floor and roof-forming parts 1g, 1i, 4h, 4f, and with their roofs hinged about an axis 26, 27. The intermediate units 2, 3, with floor and roof-forming parts on both sides have roofs 2c, 3c, which are raised from their travelling position by jacks 9; their end walls consist of two overlapping parts. Each unit chassis may have a pair of lifting jacks 36 each interposed between the chassis and a slipper 35 which is slidable along a channelled guide 33 mounted on built-up supports 34. A horizontal jack 37 between slipper and guide provides for sideways adjustment of the unit. Folding or detachable jacks 38 are also provided for supporting the floor parts at their joints. The framework of each row of seats 39 constitutes a girder imparting strength to the floor. End unit 1 providing a dressing room has an inner side wall 28 forming the back of the stage. A lattice-like beam 40 ... 45 supported by stays 56 ... 51 is disposed near the free edge of each roof part to ensure rigidity and is erected from its folded position by jacks 52 ... 57; jack pillars also support the beams at each end. Ventilating ducts 67, 68, 69 are provided in the roof and heating cables beneath corrugated metal panels constituting the upper surface of the floor. Side wall panels may be similarly heated.
