Class 143 [Also in Group XIX] In a counter scale of the over- and under-weight type employing a light projection indicator a screen or graticule 16 is mounted on a beam 15 fulcrummed on a torsion strip 18 the tension of which is adjustable to vary the arc of motion of the screen or graticule corresponding with a particular degree of over or under weight. As shown, the torsion is adjusted by a screw 24 expanding or contracting the limbs of a fixed U- shaped bracket 19 between which the strip is mounted. The beam 15 is connected to the weighbeam by a link 14. One end of the weighbeam carries an obliquely mounted adjustable screw so that the indicator scale may read zero corresponding to a predetermined load on the weighbar. The graticule is arranged between a fixed light source and lens system and an image of it is reflected from an inclined reflector on the base of the weighing scale upwards to another reflector and a ground glass viewing screen against which are indicia corresponding to the correct weight and maximum permitted excess weight.
