Abstract

703,190. Roofing. EAGAN, Ltd., R. E., and ATKINS, S. H. G. July 8, 1952 [July 13, 1951], No. 16656/51. Class 20 (4) Shell roofing such as barrel roofing, North light roofing and dome roofing is formed from a plurality of curved shell units 1 of precast concrete assembled together. The units of each line are secured together by bolts passed through holes in flanges 2 and the units are formed with thickened edges 4 containing reinforcement to enable them to withstand tension. The curved units may be separated by flat units 13, Fig. 12, and they may be in the form of half units, Fig. 13, each pair of which are separated by flat units 15. One pair of curved half units may serve as a railway platform roofing, Fig. 17.
