Abstract
702,940. X-ray apparatus. SIEMENS-REINIGER-WERKE AKT.-GES. June 8, 1951 [June 9, 1950], No... 13709/51. Class 98(1) X-ray apparatus includes a stand or the like 7 supporting an X-ray tube above a tilt-table mounted on a horizontal axis 2, the tilt-table comprising a frame supporting a table top 5 and a carriage 3 for both an X-ray tube and a fluorescent screen of photographic film, the table top and the carriage being displaceable along the frame, and a screen or cassette carriage 6 movable below the table top. The parts of the frame on either side of axle 2 may be of unequal length, the table top being displaceable over the shorter end of the frame at least by the length of the tube and screen carriage. Each side of the frame comprises two U-sectioned rails 8, 10 one above the other, connected to each other and to similar rails on the opposite side of the frame by plates 12, 13, the open sides of the rails facing inwards. Bearing plates 14 on both sides of the frame are mounted on the axle 2 carried by a base 1. Tilting is effected by means of a link 16 pivoted to one end of the frame and having rack teeth engaging a pinion 17 driven by a motor 18. The carriage 3 has rollers 4 running in the lower rails of the frame. The table top 5, together with a foot rest. 19, is supported on rollers 20 which travel in the upper rails of the frame. Threaded shafts 25 are rotatably mounted on both sides of the frame, and may be driven by worm gears by a motor 21 mounted in a housing 31 under the foot of the table top 5. Threaded lugs 33 fixed to the table top 5 engage the shafts 25, so that the table top 5 can be moved thereby along the frame until it is clear of the carriage 3 at the other end of the frame. If the top 5 is arranged to move beyond the frame in the opposite direction, an aperture is formed in plate 12 through which the motor 21 and its housing 31 passes. The carriage 6 has rollers 26 running on rails under the table top 5, and has a disc 39 pivoted eccentrically at 38 to a lug 37 on the carriage 6 By turning a handle, disc 39 may be turned to engage rail 8 to lock carriage 6 with respect to the frame. The carriage 6 may be connected for movement with the stand 7.
