Class 120(2) Apparatus for the treatment of thread comprising a thread-storage, threadadvancing device A, B in which at least one roller has a barrier 11, 11<SP>1</SP>, which impedes the 'advance of the thread, is provided with a guide 1 which can lie out of the path of the thread, Fig. 3, but can be given a movement, as by turning a cooperating pin and slot connection 4, 5 in a rod 3 and encircling sleeve 2, to bring the guide 1 into the path of the thread and to assist it past the barrier, particularly during threading-up, Fig. 4.
