699,057. Supply systems for space discharge apparatus. Rectifying. PHILCO CORPORATION. Nov. 14, 1951 [Nov. 21, 1950], No. 26661/51. Drawings to Specification. Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv). A supply system for electrical apparatus such as television receivers wherein voltages of different values are required comprises a transformer having a primary winding adapted to be connected to an alternating current source and a secondary winding across which a first alternating voltage is developed-for supplying the heaters of certain of the valves in the receiver-the primary winding and at least a part of the secondary winding being connected in series aiding to provide a second alternating voltage which is greater than that of the source, a rectifier being provided in order that this second alternating voltage may be rectified - to supply the anodes of the aforesaid valves. Thus the anodes of the valves may be supplied with direct voltages higher than could be obtained by simply rectifying the source voltage and without additional windings on the transformer. The primary and secondary windings are physically separate, containing no turns common to both windings.
