Abstract
698,306. Sliding doors. WOELM, E. Dec. 20, 1951, No. 29884/51. Class 20(iii) [Also in Group XXXIV] A suspension device for sliding doors of the type comprising a pair of rollers 7 formed as ball bearings on a shaft 6 for movement along a track 9, and a yoke 1 for suspending the door, is characterized in that, the yoke is pivotally mounted on the shaft 6 so that the load of the door is always evenly spread between the two rollers. The shaft 6 is loosely received in an unmachined bore 6, the knife-edged central part of which rests in the trough of a V-shaped, or rounded, groove 8 formed round the shaft 6 to allow pivotal movement of the yoke 1. A suspension bolt 2, mounted on bearings 3, is rotatable in a bush 4 secured to the yoke 1. In Fig. 4 the shaft 11 of the roller 10 is mounted in a bush 12 which serves as an inner ball race, the outer race 14 being provided with an outwardly widening groove 15. The bore in the yoke is cylindrical, a locking disc 17 being provided along the lower edge of the bore to prevent displacement of the yoke from the groove 15.
